At the heart of writing a good English Literature essay is readability. Avoid writing an essay that is a regurgitation of facts, lecture notes or other people’s opinions. Planning an Essay. Careful planning is the key to producing a good essay. Do NOT begin to write your essay the night before it is due to be submitted. You should allow yourselves time to consider, plan, write, rewrite and revise, and proof read your essay before its submission.
How to write a powerful conclusion in a literature essay. Conclusions are the single most difficult aspect of an essay. At any level, the conclusion to an English essay should not be merely a bland summary of the content already explored. It may be a good idea to summarise the main points that have led to the final discussion-point, but the concluding paragraphs to an essay should be seen as primarily the culmination: the most interesting and important idea that all prior content has built towards.
